Software Assurance Terms

Software Assurance is 18% of the purchase price, per year. However, Software Assurance is currently being included with the respective Knowledge Package, which may be a significantly better value.  Software Assurance is purchased for two classes of license. Identity Panel and MIM DevTest.

Software Assurance for Identity Panel

Software Assurance for Identity Panel covers all purchased Identity Panel components and add-ons, including Service Panel. The 18% annual fee applied to the entire cost of all of these Identity Panel component Licenses purchased. The Knowledge Package for Identity Panel currently covers all of these components. You will not be changed the 18% for Software Assurance if you have the Knowledge Package for Identity Panel.

Software Assurance for MIM DevTest

Software Assurance for MIM DevTest covers all purchased MIM DevTest components and add-ons (if any). The 18% annual fee is applied to the entire cost of all of these MIM DevTest Licensed component purchased. The Knowledge Package for MIM DevTest currently covers all of these components. You will not be changed the 18% for Software Assurance if you have the Knowledge Package for MIM DevTest.

Entitlement

Software Assurance entitles your organization to upgrade to the latest major version of Identity Panel or MIM DevTest. Major version are the number prefexed or before the point. Therefore, as an example, an upgrade from version 3.x to 4.x required Software Assurance. However, updated from 4.1 to 4.2, for example, is covered under Software Maintenance.

Perquisites

  • Must have a license for the product.
  • Must have a Software Maintenance subscription

When to purchase

You may purchase at expiration of your respective Knowledge Package. However, please check to determine if a renewal of your Knowledge Package will include Software Assurance. If it does, you may find that this is better value than purchase Software Assurance alone.

Adding Software Assurance later

If you do not add or renew Software Assurance prior to the expiration, you may may offered Software Assurance when you purchase your next Upgrade. Additionally, if the Knowledge Package includes Assurance at the time of reactivation, you may consider reactivating your Knowledge Package, since this is often a better value.

Effective and end date

Software Assurance begins only after the reception of your purchase order from you or your reseller, starting on the day your software license keys are delivered to you or your reseller (base on the email deliver instructions in the purchase order). The termination date is one year later. For example, if your keys were delivered to you or your reseller, via email, on July 14, 2018, your assurance would expire July 13, 2019. Typical, customers obtain Software Assurance as a benefit of the Knowledge Package, and therefore, Software Assurance’s start and end date reflects the start and end date of the Knowledge Package subscription.
